Why your plan matters

The plan isn’t really
about the money.

It’s about the people it’s for —
and knowing they’ll be taken care of,
no matter how long retirement lasts.

The before

The retirement phase plays by different rules.

Nobody warns you until it’s too late: the years you spend living off your savings behave nothing like the years you spent building them. The day your paycheck stops, a handful of new risks move in — and each one gets worse the longer it goes unaddressed.

01

“Will I outlive my money?”

Retirements now run 30 years or more. Making what you’ve saved last that long takes a fundamentally different plan than the one that got you here.

02

“What if the market drops the year I retire?”

A bad market in your first few years hits differently once you’re drawing income instead of adding to it — and the math is unforgiving. A 30% loss takes a 43% gain just to get back to even, ground you may never recover while you’re living off the account.

03

“Will my income keep up with the cost of living?”

Over a 25- or 30-year retirement, steadily rising prices erode what your paycheck can actually buy. A plan that ignores inflation falls further behind every year — right when you can least afford it to.

04

“How much of this is really mine to spend?”

The savings in your 401(k) and IRA haven’t been taxed yet — the IRS is still a partner in every dollar. When and how you draw it down, and when you convert, decides how much you actually get to keep.

Left alone, those risks don’t stay small. In retirement, little problems have a way of turning into life-altering ones — and the time to deal with them is before they arrive, not after.

You don’t have to stay here. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Where you could be

Imagine knowing you’re going to be okay.

Picture a retirement where a steady paycheck lands every month — one you understand, and don’t lie awake worrying about. Where you know what you can spend each month, and how every dollar you’ve saved is working for you — the protected and the growing alike. Where the plan is written down, in plain English, and it’s yours.

That’s the feeling we’re working toward: I know we’re going to be okay.

That’s the shift: from guessing and hoping, to a plan you trust — and the peace that comes with it.

How we get you there

Your Retirement Income Plan

A clear path from where you are today to a retirement you don’t have to worry about. We don’t start with a product. We start with your picture.

1We map what you have. Every account, every income source, every goal — in one place, so nothing hides.
2We build your income floor. Dependable, contractual income to cover your essentials — a foundation that isn’t tied to the market’s ups and downs.
3We position the rest for growth. Your income floor is already doing a job — covering the essentials, dependably. With that handled, the remaining dollars go to work pursuing growth, managed by rules, not emotion. Every dollar has a role; it’s all one coordinated plan.
4We stress-test it. Before you change a thing, you see how the plan holds up against a long life, bad markets, and rising costs. You see the results in advance.
5We keep it current. Retirement isn’t set-and-forget. We adjust as your life and the markets change.

The guide

Meet Eli Mitcham

I’ve been helping conservative investors build better retirements since 1999.

In that time, I’ve guided clients through two of the worst market crashes in modern history — the dot-com collapse and 2008 — each one cutting the market by more than half. “Defense first” isn’t a slogan to me. It’s shaped how I manage risk for the families I work with.

I’m a fiduciary. That means I’m legally and ethically bound to put your interests ahead of my own — on every recommendation I make.

And unlike an adviser who only manages investments, or an agent who only sells insurance, I’m qualified to counsel on every side of the retirement ledger: investment management, structured income, Social Security, taxes, and legacy. One person, seeing the whole picture.

What this looks like in real life

From “Can we?” to “When do we start?”

A relaxed, happy retired couple embracing at home, at ease about their future

Take a couple in their early 60s — the kind of household we sit with every week.

They’d saved well. But they were losing sleep over one question: Can we actually afford to retire — and stay retired?

The fear wasn’t the number in the account. It was not knowing what that number would safely produce, month after month, for the rest of their lives.

So we built the plan. Mapped the income. Covered the essentials with dependable income — then put the rest to work for growth.

By the end, the question had changed — from “Can we?” to “When do we start?”

That’s the shift. From uncertainty to a plan you trust.

Hypothetical, for illustration — not a specific client. No outcome figures used.
